Art, maieutics and the creation of a place for people
Tra Ragione e Respiro is an ongoing site-specific installation created for the offices of Notai2021 and notary Paolo Broccoli.
Born from the encounter between Paolo Broccoli’s maieutic approach to professional practice and Carlo Brunelli’s artistic research, the project explores how art can contribute to shaping environments where people feel welcomed, seen and valued beyond their roles.
The installation was activated through an inaugural evening of art, music and dialogue, transforming the notarial office into a space of listening, presence and authentic human connection. What began as a temporary event evolved into something more enduring: an environment designed to accompany everyday life.
Rather than serving a decorative function, the artworks became part of the identity of the space itself. Together with the architecture, the relationships and the daily activities of the office, they contribute to creating an atmosphere where beauty, culture and attention to the human experience are tangible aspects of the environment.
At the heart of the project lies a shared belief: the places we inhabit influence how we relate to ourselves and to one another.
Through colour, material, light and organic forms, the installation invites moments of pause and reflection within a context usually associated with responsibility, decisions and professional commitments. It suggests that efficiency and humanity, structure and sensitivity, reason and breath, can coexist within the same space.
Today, the installation continues to inhabit the offices of Notai2021, accompanying clients, collaborators and visitors as a living presence. More than an exhibition, it functions as a container for encounters, conversations and everyday experiences — a reminder that professional environments can also become places of culture, belonging and care.
Inaugural Event
The project was inaugurated through an evening of art, music and shared presence hosted by Paolo Broccoli at Notai2021.
The event brought together artworks by Carlo Brunelli, a lyrical performance by Laura Losada and an immersive soundscape by Lorenzo Lucchese, creating a multisensory experience dedicated to the relationship between thought and intuition, responsibility and feeling.
For one evening, the office became a place where visitors could slow down, connect and experience the possibility of meeting one another beyond professional roles.
